VR Gameplay Engineer
Overview
Here at AstroBeam, we are looking for a skilled and self motivated VR Gameplay Engineer to create fun and engaging virtual reality. In this role you will be planning, prototyping, and implementing game systems inside Unity. This role requires someone who is motivated, a self starter, and has strong communication skills. While AstroBeam is based out of Austin, TX, this is a remote role within the US.
Responsibilities
Take initial gameplay concepts from prototypes to production
Tackle performance and debugging issues
Write modular reusable gameplay systems
Work with artists, engineers, and designers to create innovative gameplay
Requirements
C# programming language
Strong debugging skills and understanding of application performance
Experience working in Unity Game Engine
Strong communication skills for working with a remote team
Bonus
Virtual Reality experience
Familiar with writing Unity Editor tools
Experience writing and maintaining large game systems
Multiplayer Networking
Good at 3D math, ie Vectors, Quaternions, and Linear Algebra
